What is a Soldier of Christ?

The inspiration for this ministry comes from one of my favorite Bible Verses; II Timothy 2:3 & 4.

In this verse the Apostle Paul writes to Timothy:

"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier."

To fully understand what the Lord was trying to reveal to us through this piece of Scripture, it is necessary to look at it in pieces as well as in its entirety.

Breaking it Down

We need to do more here than look at this verse on the surface.  We truly need to examine it and understand it in the context it was written.  The five areas we are going to look at are:

(1)   Enduring hardship

(2)   Soldier of Jesus Christ

(3)   Engaged in Warfare

(4)   Entangles himself

(5) Please our Commander
