V Did you know that the Book of JOB is thought to be the oldest Book in the Bible written around  4,000 years ago?

So we have an overview of what the Bible is, but how do we know it is real?  How do we really know that God inspired the writers of it?

As we have discussed, the Bible is a collection of 66 Books.  Let’s look at some of the amazing statistics and evidence behind the Bible.

1. These Books of the Bible were written over a period that spanned around 2000 years from the first to the last.
2. They were written by some 40 or so different authors.
3. They were written in three different languages: HEBREW, ARAMAIC, and GREEK. 
4. They were written in many different countries on different continents
5. Yet all of these Books are harmonious and free from contradictions.

What are the odds of having that many people with different backgrounds in different languages, thousands of years apart, in different cultures write that many books that have no flaws or contradictions?  NONE. Only GOD could make that happen.

V Did you know that no other Book in the history of the world has been attacked, tested, scrutinized, burned, banned, etc. as the Bible has?  

Yet we still have the books of the Bible in their  original form after thousands of years?

Why is that?  Well...either there is nothing of substance in the Bible that could prove or disprove it...or we can find the answer in Matthew 24:35 when Jesus tells His followers...

“Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” 

On the other hand, It is possible to write a book and have it last 3,000 or 4,000 years as long as you do not write anything that could be proven wrong later.  

So you would have to avoid writing things like:
*  Prophecies
*  Unknown Sciences
*  Unproven Beliefs, etc.

In other words, you would have to be as vague as possible so that your stories could never be checked.   

Well this is where there are countless areas where the Bible proved itself as the ONLY TRUE Word of God that exists.

There are a lot of things written in the Bible that could easily disprove it if they were found wrong or could prove it if it were found true.  Some examples are:

1. Historical records and accounts
2. Scientific Truths revealed thousands of years before “science” knew it
3. Prophecies
4. Genealogies
5. Archaeologies

These are some of the proofs that we will be exploring first.

In reality, unless we are certain that the Bible is the perfect Word of God spoken to us through the Inspired writers---there is no reason to teach out of it.  

The Bible is the basis of our faith, our beliefs, and the Character and Teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

How can we claim a Lord and Savior that we do not know or trust His word?  This is where the next lessons will take us.
